4K RECORDERS
Future-proof your video shooting and photography career by investing in a 4K recorder. 4K technology is the new high-definition, and it can capture videos and images that are so much better than any 720p or 1080p high-definition recorder can. Though the 4K is still relatively new and few hardware brands support 4K definition resolutions, investing on a 4K recorder now would give you the edge in your professional goals in the future. 4K recording can make your videos and images even more breathtaking and more attractive to clients and agents.
To help you upgrade to a 4K recorder, here are some tips to help you prepare your equipment and hardware for 4K:
- Save your fastest memory cards for your 4K recorder – 4K takes up a lot of space because of the higher-than-HD resolution. Your memory cards should have at least 32GB of memory space and at least 30mbps of write speed.
- Invest on high-speed and high-capacity hard drives – Because 4K needs more space, you will need to transfer your recordings from high-capacity memory cards to high-capacity hard drives more frequently. Your 4K-ready hard drives should be fast enough to allow you to edit your recordings, with a read/write speed of at least 7200rpm on a USB 3.0 connection or faster.
- Check if your computer is fast enough to handle 4K – Though most new-release computers are up to the task of processing high-definition data, some old computers may not do as well as the new ones. Your computer’s RAM should be at least 16GB and your local hard drive space should be at least 1TB. You should also use graphic cards like NVIDIA 600-series, AMD R5-series, or higher.
