DESKTOP & PORTABLE
With regards to size, projectors come in two variants: desktop and portable.
Desktop projectors are larger and bulkier since they are not meant to be moved around so much; sometimes these projectors are permanently installed in a room. On the other hand, portable projectors are small and lightweight, so you can take them anywhere you want.
When choosing a projector, you need to take into account what you will be using it for. If you will be using the projector for watching movies at home, or if you will be using it in the office for presentations, then you should go with the desktop variants. However, if you are always on the go, and you need a bigger screen than your laptop’s for presentation purposes, then the portable ones are better suited for you.
One thing that you have to keep in mind when choosing a projector is that you will be compromising image quality for portability. This means that desktop projectors provide better image quality, and they are also better suited for larger venues; when you use a portable projector on a large screen, the images will not be as bright or as crisp. However, if you will be using the projector for personal use only, a portable one would suffice.
